5-star guard Lonnie Walker includes Syracuse in top 5 list

Jim Boeheim and Syracuse have their eye on Lonnie Walker, who included Syracuse in his top five list.

Syracuse made the cut for Class of 2017 shooting guard Lonnie Walker’s top five, he announced on Twitter Thursday evening. Walker is ranked with five stars and as the 19th best recruit in the class according to ESPN.

His top five also includes Kentucky, Villanova, Arizona and Miami.



The Orange currently does not have any commits in the 2017 class. The 6-foot-4, 192-pound Walker attends Reading (Pennsylvania) High School and is ranked with five stars and as the 21st best player in the class by 247Sports.com’s composite rankings. Scout.com also ranks Walker with five stars and as the 23rd best player in the 2017 cycle.

SU’s roster will include guards Frank Howard and Tyus Battle in 2016-17
